LeapOut Gets Media Spotlight on Award-Winning TV & Radio Show Pilipinas, Ngayon Na

Marvin, LeapOut President and CEO, imparted digital marketing insights on the radio program on the topic Thriving Businesses: Ride the Digital Wave.  Marvin Ortiz, LeapOut Co-Founder and CEO, had the honor of guesting in a radio program Pilipinas, Ngayon Na on January 8, 2024, aired on DWIZ 882 and Aliw TV 23 and hosted by Undersecretary (USec.) Robert Rivera and Lady Elyza. Marvin’s guesting highlighted the power of digital marketing and e-commerce to the hosts, who, like many ordinary Filipinos, are still not well-versed but are enthusiastic about this thriving sector. Helping Businesses Leap Into Digital At the start of the program, USec. Rivera stressed the importance of keeping abreast with developments taking place on the Internet.  “We know that AI and digital are all over. That’s why communication time has been cut considerably. With the touch of a finger, you can video chat anywhere in the world and talk to anyone.” USec Rivera also admitted that many businesses in the Philippines are struggling to compete because they still opt to use traditional methods. However, he emphasized that to be competitive in today’s world, they need to keep up with the fast-changing business practices such as establishing an online business presence.  Taking off from this backgrounder by USec Rivera, Marvin introduced LeapOut and its mission.  He said that the company aims to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and even micro-enterprises “to leap into its digital transformation.” The company equips companies with capabilities to break into and then grow and succeed in the digital realm.  “We are a digital marketing agency that helps businesses maximize their business presence online — especially legacy businesses — to spot more opportunities and thrive online.”   “From First-Scale to Full-Scale” Marvin, one of the pioneers in the country’s digital marketing landscape, commented that it is LeapOut’s mission to help Filipino businesses, especially those who are eager to establish their footprint online via digital marketing.  “The goal of digital companies is not only to share information but also to help users navigate the digital landscape by elevating their user experience. Usually, we help companies that have the vision and goal to serve online customers but have no capabilities and capacities to venture into digital media,” he said. To guarantee success in this transformation, Marvin said LeapOut is committed to empowering its clients to succeed from laying their foundation online to providing excellent customer experience. This end-to-end approach is what digital marketing professionals consider the “from first-scale to full-scale” approach.   Using this extensive approach, the company has provided and is currently providing these services to its clients from SMEs to those belonging to the top ten Philippine companies.  “We have already helped and continue helping businesses and organizations in the Philippines. in transforming their digital footprint,” Marvin added. LeapOut’s clients include household brands such as SM, Ajinomoto, Cebuana Lhuillier, Malayan Insurance, and Wilcon Depot.  To accomplish this, LeapOut helps conceptualize, create, and compose digital content for its three key businesses: social media and content marketing, e-commerce, and paid media. The company started as a digital marketing agency. The company later ventured into e-commerce development and programmatic advertising.    Screengrab of Marvin explaining how digital marketing benefits businesses during the radio interview streamed live on Pilipinas, Ngayon Na Facebook page.  Hypertargeting 101 To showcase what digital marketing can do to businesses on the program, Marvin described the power of programmatic advertising. With this technology, companies can now show their marketing content and copies directly to their specific intended audience.  He demonstrated this technology through an example. A company wants to offer two contents to two demographics: Content A is for seniors and Content B is for millennials. With programmatic advertising in Google and social media platforms, the company can show only Content A for seniors in the platform you subscribed to and Content B to only your target millennial audience. Since this method will only allow your content to be seen by your ideal audience, it provides amazing efficiency to your campaign. It lowers the cost as it prevents you from showing the ads to unintended audiences. And because only your target people can access your content, your probability of sales increases considerably.   It Started With A Mission When talking about LeapOut’s mission, Marvin shared the humble beginnings of the company. He recalled the time when a plumber sought his service when he was still an advertising agent in 2009. Short of funds to pay for the ad, it took some time for the plumber to pay for the creative and publish it online.  At a time when the internet was just starting and selling online services was difficult, the freelance plumber believed that the new tech would open business opportunities. This kindled Marvin’s passion to open an agency to serve as a launch pad for the growth of SMEs and micro businesses. With digital marketing, he believes these small and startup businesses have a “leveling playing field” where they can compete head-on with established companies and corporations. Cybersecurity Insights Aside from digital marketing, Marvin also provided his insights on cybersecurity, especially on email and social media accounts.  “Social media accounts like Messenger and email addresses can be hacked and faked,” he stressed.  One of his takeaways is to be mindful of emails that we receive. For email, check for the sender. To find out if the email address or URL is legitimate, check the domain name if it matches the exact spelling of the domain name (.com or .edu) of legitimate sites. Another thing you can do is to verify whether the sender uses a real name. When you are doubtful of the sender, you should research if the email is factual over the Internet or confirm with your friends and people you trust. Pilipinas, Ngayon Na! airs every 2 pm – 3 pm on DWIZ 882 kHz and Aliw TV 23. The entire interview can be streamed on the Pilipinas, Ngayon Na Facebook page.

The Ultimate Guide to Home Improvement SEO Strategies

As an executive in the home improvement industry, your digital home is your company website. Just like any home, you need to implement home improvement search engine optimization (SEO) in your website to ensure it is accessible and appealing to your visitors.  Here is a guide for home improvement executives, prepared by LeapOut’s SEO team.  What SEO Can Do for Home Improvement Websites? With SEO, you can boost the chances of getting site visibility on Google, Bing or other search engines.  LeapOut SEO specialist Jan Fredrick Nietes said that as SEO experts, “we optimize websites so customers can find your products more easily online. The goal is for your website to show up at the top of search engines when people look for things you sell.” Home improvement SEO takes those principles and tailors them to businesses in the home renovation, remodeling, interior design, and other home services sectors.  Many customers in this industry start connecting with companies online using Google, making it extremely competitive for SEO. So, if your website isn’t well-optimized, you’re missing out on a huge pool of potential leads.   A properly executed SEO strategy will result in: Increase your brand’s online visibility by appearing on the top of Google search pages More qualified traffic coming to your website Establishing your company as a reputable and trustworthy business partner Enhanced lead generation and better sales. How Google Ranks A Home Improvement Website? Before we discuss how SEO will place your home improvement website or your key landing pages on top of Google search pages, let us first find out how the most popular search engine ranks websites. Google ranks websites using a complex algorithm. Algorithm is a decision-making process or set of rules for calculating, decision-making, or other problem-solving tasks. The search giant considers hundreds of factors to determine the criteria by which it ranks your website.  As a business keen on maintaining its market dominance, Google sees to it that it provides the best search engine results pages (SERPs) to all users. While no one knows Google’s exact algorithm (it is proprietary and constantly evolving) on achieving this goal, SEO experts found out the search engine pays particular attention to these ranking factors: Meaning Relevance Context Quality Usability How SEO Can Boost Visibility of Home Improvement Sites? With these in mind, SEO experts have summed up these five major ranking factors into three major tasks that they do daily: Create and publish relevant, high-quality content Ensure the web pages provide positive user experience to both humans and search engines Get quality and relevant backlinks  Create and Publish High-Quality Content  As the web’s de facto librarian and gatekeeper, Google loves showing what it considers as quality content.  Top-notch content means it is informative, engaging, and well-written. Google evaluates factors such as the content’s relevance, readability, comprehensiveness, and originality.  The LeapOut SEO team has a list of recommendation on how to craft top-notch content for home improvement businesses: Place yourself in your customers’ shoes What questions are they asking? What problems are they Googling solutions for? Create content that answers those directly. Target very specific keywords This industry is highly competitive. To get an edge over your rivals, you need to focus on specific keywords that consumers would be likely to search. To further increase your brand’s competitiveness, you can target: Service-specific keywords – Focus on terms related to specific services (e.g., “roof replacement”, “deck installation”, “countertop refinishing”). So, instead of using “bathroom remodel,” which, despite having a sizable volume of 1,600,000 searches per month, it has a competitive keyword difficulty (KD) of 69.   Compare this to a more focused “small bathroom remodel ideas,” which, despite having a decent volume of an estimated 10,000 searches per month, has an extremely low keyword difficulty. Targeting “small bathroom remodel ideas” would be easier for your content to rank than “bathroom remodel.” Hyper-local – Joyce Roque, LeapOut SEO Specialist focusing on on-page and local SEO, encourages the use of location-based keywords, such as the name of the city and your target term like “interior cement board paint in Manila,” “small bathroom remodeling Philippines,” or “bathroom renovations Manila”. Hyper-local keywords with location modifiers will make your company visible to your target customers in your service area.  Long-tail keywords – Find lower-competition phrases with high intent like “best materials for kitchen backsplash on a budget”. Problem-solving keywords – Focus on searches that address common home improvement pain points such as “how to fix a leaky faucet” and “small bathroom remodel ideas” to directly address the concerns of your customers.   Match search intent with the right content Google aims to understand the intent behind a user’s search query and provide relevant results that match that intent. Pages that effectively address user intent through content and context are more likely to rank higher. For example, if you search for “roof repair,” Google assumes you are finding tips on how to fix your damaged roof. Meanwhile, if you key in “roof repair Manila” the search engine will give you a list of companies that offer the service within Manila.   So, if you wish to target “roof repair,” you need to publish interesting, engaging, and entertaining listicles to improve the visibility of your company for this keyword. As for “roof repair Manila,” you need to optimize your service pages or landing pages to make it rank for this keyword.  It is then an SEO professional’s job to suggest writers or publishers what types of content to produce for this keyword. “At LeapOut, we analyze user intent by identifying what they are particularly searching for through the use of keywords in the content,” according to our SEO specialist Joyce Roque. Ensure the pages are formatted properly  Google gives importance to the structure and layout of the content for better reading experience to the reader. Breaking down a blog post into sections and using well-written meta descriptions and headers makes it easy for Google and humans to figure out what the section and text is all about.

Rank Higher, Sell Faster: SEO Strategies for 2024 Ecommerce Success

The start of 2024 opens up a huge opportunity for businesses to capitalize on ecommerce. Starting from the considerable growth of the Philippine ecommerce market during the Covid-19, it shows no signs of slowing down. From a $17-billion industry in 2021, experts expected it to grow by 17% to $24 billion in 2025. It can also see a sustained rise of up to $60 billion in 2030, according to Statista data. With these encouraging numbers, 2024 is the best time to seize this thriving market. The Need to Invest in eCommerce SEO However, entering the eCommerce landscape can be a tall order. Without the right knowledge and strategies, your competitors can easily beat your company to a pulp. One way to avoid this tragedy is by optimizing your eCommerce site for Google. For this task, you need SEO pros to make your site accessible to humans and search engines. They use the right tools, tweaks, and tricks to maximize your web presence. But why should your website optimization be your top priority? The reason is, it’s the primary touchpoint of online buyers. A survey revealed nearly half (44%) of online buyers begin their online shopping journey through Google. What’s more, more than one-fourth (37.5%) of all eCommerce sites traffic comes from search engines. Meanwhile around one-fourth (23.6%) of e-store orders are attributed to organic traffic. E-commerce SEO Best Practices to Focus in 2024 Looking at these numbers, you see the importance of optimizing your e-commerce website. To succeed in this task, SEO specialists should focus on what to optimize, which usually rely on the latest Google algorithm updates.  [We focus on meeting Google’s requirements because it holds the dominant position in search, with a market share of around 95% on mobile and 85% on desktop,] In 2024, here are some of the optimizations your website needs. Leverage AI Tools for Better and Optimized Content AI enables marketers to produce quality results fast. SEOs can also leverage this technology by supercharging their capabilities. Search engines are increasingly powered by AI and machine learning, making them capable of understanding user intent and delivering highly relevant results. This means you need to go beyond basic keywords and delve into long-tail queries and conversational language to truly connect with your target audience. At LeapOut, we understand the need for quick compliance to our client’s ecommerce requirements with quality results. To do this we use and advocate the use of AI tools like ChatGPT, Jasper, Gemini, Claude AI, and Grammarly to help us in: Performing keyword research using our tech partner Semrush to discover and focus on targeting industry-specific keywords with commercial and transactional intent. This task enables us to zero in on what the target audiences of our clients seek for. It will also direct us in producing or suggesting the appropriate content in relation to the searcher’s intent. Crafting compelling meta titles, meta descriptions, slugs that include the primary keywords  Create topic clusters and supply them with content to make visitors stay longer in the site Get topic suggestions you can write for based on highly sought and marketable keywords.  When used properly, AI reduces the amount of time it takes while generating the best results for improving search rankings and brand online visibility. Invest in Mobile SEO for Ecommerce Mobile now trumps desktop as the go-to device for browsing and shopping. Studies suggest that about two-thirds of ecommerce purchases take place on mobile devices. This means mobile phone optimization is a must to make your site visible to a massive chunk of potential customers. Sadly, LeapOut’s SEO team found out that many of our clients’ websites are still not optimized for mobile.  When audited, their site still failed to pass the acceptable mobile responsiveness, loading speed, and ease of navigation set by Google. Fixing these issues can lead to a huge improvement in mobile users’ engagement to your site.  Give More Emphasis on User Experience Gone are the days of chasing better rankings only through keywords. Today’s algorithms give emphasis on user experience (UX) signals. This means you need to find ways to encourage visitors to access and stay in your site. Some of the common practices our on-page optimization for ecommerce to increase dwell time and engagement are: Producing relevant and helpful easy-to-read texts across your site. These product descriptions should be able to: resonate with your audience,  answer their questions, and  keep them accessing other pages and digital assets within your website. Image optimization by including clear, sharp, and high-resolution images with the smallest possible file size Embedding relevant and engaging video content. Reducing the time it takes for your website to load. Make sure that your pages pass the Pagespeed Insights, which measures the Core Web Vitals. These set of metrics give developers an idea of how fast the specific parts of a page loads on the screen. Craft Helpful Content with Your Experts Days after Google rolled out its Helpful Content update in September 2023, brands, bloggers, and other content creators immediately felt its impact. Many of them saw their rankings and traffic dip because their web content failed to pass the “people-first” shift in Google’s requirements.  This algorithm update rewards websites that focus on crafting useful and valuable content for people and not for search engine bots. This means overuse of keywords (keyword stuffing) and producing content for the sake of jacking up your ranking no longer works. To do this, Google added the author’s expertise or experience to the topic it is writing or E to its E-A-T guideline.  Weaving Seamless Customer Journeys with Omnichannel SEO Nowadays, brands need to interconnect their marketing channels. Today’s customers expect a cohesive experience that allows for seamless interaction between physical stores, websites, social media, and more. They also seek to access your company on their smart home devices like Amazon Echo and Google Nest. To make this possible, you need to beef up your omnichannel SEO strategy to optimize your online presence across all touchpoints. A unified customer

Google SEO Algorithm Update: “A Helpful Content Update”

Google has launched a Helpful Content Update to provide people with more practical, original, and relevant information, reinforcing content production for people instead of search engines. The Google Helpful Content update is a new algorithm that ranks websites based on the quality and usefulness of their content. Websites that provide helpful, well-written, and informative content will rank higher in the search results than those that don’t.  This update aims to improve the quality of search results and make it easier for users to find the information they need.  What do we know about the Google Helpful Content Algorithm Update? The Google Helpful Content update will affect all websites that have content. On the other hand, websites that don’t have any content or only have a few pages of content will not be affected by this update. (Obviously, if you don’t have content, better not to have a website, or perhaps your site is using web flash.) However, sites with a lot of content that is not helpful or informative will see a decrease in their search engine rankings, more so if the content is a re-hash, rephrase, or was written by AI bots. This means that users will find fewer websites in search results that seem very promising but hardly have valuable insights.  The Google Helpful Content Update was rolled out last August 25, 2022. So, it took effect in the Philippines between the 26th and 27th of August, 2022. How do you know if you got affected by the Google Helpful Content Algorithm Update? If you have seen your traffic and keyword rankings go down, it may signal that your website has been affected by the update. We expect the update to affect about 20–30% of search engine rankings, particularly in the News sector, specifically on the Knowledge Panel and People ask SERP features occurrence (US) based on SemRush Sensor.  We can also expect the same impact on the PH market. (Unfortunately, SemRush doesn’t have data on PH yet.) SERP Volatility on News Websites in the US with 5.7 changes (High Range) Still, we can see that the August 9 Google Algorithm update glitch is still a more significant change than the Google Helpful Content Update.  How are big SEO Companies in the Philippines faring on this Helpful Content Update? Looking at the SEO Philippines landscape, we can see that some of the country’s SEO companies are affected by the algorithm update. We can see that SEO-Hacker and Spiralytics are on the downturn trend while Truelogic is picking up the pace.  LeapOut (yes, our website) has been affected slightly, with a 17% drop in traffic versus July (full August data is not yet complete). However, according to SemRush trends, we can see that we shouldn’t be worried so much.  Tips on how to recover from Google Helpful Content Update rollout Write content primarily for people, not for search engines.  Come up with relevant content and provide your audience with helpful information. When users click on your website, they expect to find answers or valuable insights that will fulfill the purpose of their search.  Ensure your content adds value to their visit by satisfying these expectations. SEO is for people, not bots, as Ashley Rodriguez emphasized in her piece, “Put people first before the rankings.”  Use relevant keywords to help users find your content. When writing helpful and valuable content for your audience, you also need to help them find it. Incorporate relevant keywords into your titles, headings, page descriptions, and the like. When you do, you’ll be more likely to appear in search results for those terms, and people searching for those keywords will more easily find your site and benefit from your content. Use images, videos, and infographics to break up your text and make your content more visually appealing.  By using these elements, you can add another layer of information to your content that can help engage readers and keep them coming back for more. Images, videos, and infographics can also help to strengthen your message and make it more memorable. When used correctly, they can add a level of sophistication and professionalism to your content that may add to the overall satisfying experience of your audience. This effort by Google significantly helps people gain access to the information they need more easily while rewarding sites that are efficient in providing it. It encourages and reinforces creating content with better quality, higher relevance, and original, human touch.  The update may take up to two weeks to fully implement. Check the Google Search ranking updates page for details and new posts.

domain age, alexa rank, and page rank

Domain Age, Alexa Rank, and Google PageRank – Old and Faded SEO Benchmarking Metrics

Domain Age, Alexa Rank, and Google PageRank – Do these metrics still matter? In the early days of SEO, practitioners were obsessed with reporting metrics that would justify their efforts in growing their website popularity and traffic. Since SEO and digital marketing were in their infancy (talking about 2010 – 2016), leaders were keen to know if they were making progress; hence, they resorted and depended on these old metrics. The difference between Domain age, Alexa rank, and Google PageRank is significant in understanding the history and myths of SEO. Domain age (not to be confused with DA as Domain Authority) is when a website has been registered, while Alexa Rank measures web traffic and popularity (retired in May 2022), and Google PageRank is a measure of a website’s importance or authority. Does domain age affect Google rankings? Domain age can be a factor in SEO because it shows how long a website has been around. The longer a website has been around, the more likely it is to have built up trust and authority with search engines. However, domain age alone is not enough to guarantee good SEO results. In an old video of Matt Cutts in 2009 (yes! This is the only available official statement about Domain Age as a Search Engine Ranking Factor), he answered the question, “how much does a domain age affects its ranking on Google?” Matt Cutts said not to worry about it too much as link data is way more important than the site’s age. He then said: “The fact is it’s mostly the quality of your content and the sort of links that you get as a result of the quality of your content that determine how well you’re going to rank in the search engines.” So don’t believe some domain registrar suppliers selling you old domains with SEO as their pitch. It’s useless! Does good Alexa Rank mean the website has good SEO? I remember years back when I used to work for an E-commerce giant in the U.S. We used to include Alexa rankings as part of our SEO report. We were presenting the data to our leaders because it’s a good indication of how fast our website is growing in terms of traffic versus other competitors in the industry. Alexa rank is a good indicator of how popular a website is. The higher the Alexa rank, the more traffic a website gets. However, Alexa Rankings is independent of Google, so there is no direct correlation between Google Rankings and Alexa Rankings. A straight answer from Mike Maynard at Quora about this topic:     Alexa retired its services on May 01, 2022. Thank you, Alexa, and farewell! Your rankings and toolbars will be missed. Google Pagerank Google PageRank is a more complex measure of a website’s importance. It considers the number and quality of links pointing to a website and the quality of the website’s content. A high PageRank indicates that a website is an authority on its subject matter or topic. Page Authority (PR) scale from 0-10. This scale moves way slower than Domain Authority and is much harder to impact, so if you see some positive movement, it’s a cause for a celebration (only if your client/bosses will understand). I remember in the early days of SEO, everybody went crazy about this metric, as this is a proprietary algorithm of Google during the early days. “The Google search engine has two essential features that help it produce high-precision results. First, it makes use of the link structure of the Web to calculate a quality ranking for each web page. This ranking is called PageRank and is described in detail in [Page 98]. Second, Google utilizes link to improve search results.” — The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine – Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page However, as Google launches its new alteration and improvements to its algorithm, PageRank is rarely mentioned in SEO strategy planning and reports. Still, if you’re curious, you may check your site’s Google PageRank in this link. Make sure you include your http/s. Conclusion Domain age, Alexa rank, and Google PageRank are all essential factors to consider when benchmarking your traffic acquisition and SEO efforts. However, they are just one part of the puzzle. Other important factors include the quality of your website’s content and the number and quality of links pointing to your site. If you focus on these factors, you can improve your website’s SEO and visibility in the search engines.

How Does Web User Experience Affect SEO

How Does Web User Experience Affect SEO?

Web user experience, also known as UX, refers to all the elements contributing to how users interact with and perceive your website. Good UX is essential for keeping users engaged with your site. It can also directly impact your SEO. What is User Experience or UX? User experience (UX) refers to people’s emotions and attitudes towards using a particular product, system, or service. Since user experience affects SEO, not just in the Philippines but globally, it should be a top priority for any business that wants to succeed online.  Here’s how UX affects SEO: Higher engagement metrics. If users enjoy their experience on your site, they’re likely to stay longer and explore, sending signals to search engines that your site is relevant and informative. On the other hand, if users quickly leave your site, it tells search engines that your site isn’t. More social shares. When users share your content on social media, it creates links back to your site. These links help improve your site’s authority and can lead to higher rankings on search engine results pages. More conversions. Good UX is essential for driving conversions. If users leave your site before completing the desired action, this will indicate to search engines that your site isn’t relevant or user-friendly. Higher click-through rates. Click-through rate (CTR) measures how often people who see your listing in search results click on it. If your CTR is high, you will likely see a corresponding increase in your SEO rankings.  Brand mentions. The more people mention your brand, the more engagement signals you send to search engines, helping to improve your SEO rankings. Improve your SEO and let your brand and business reap the benefits. Start by improving your website’s UX and working with a company specializing in SEO services in the Philippines.  What are the best practices with UX? Ensure that your website or app provides a positive UX with these tips: Make sure your site is easy to navigate. Users should be able to find their way around your site easily.   Use consistent design elements to create a cohesive look. It helps users feel comfortable on your site.  Keep your content scannable. Use short paragraphs, headlines, and bulleted lists. Use images and videos to make your content visually appealing and explain complex concepts. Use negative space to create a more visually appealing design and make your content easier to read. Test your design with real users to identify areas that need improvement. What are UX principles? Here is a list of UX principles that are the foundation of good design.  Usability Users should be able to interact with products, and those products must be able to meet their needs. Functionality A product should be able to perform its intended function. Aesthetics The aesthetics should provide users with a pleasant overall experience through enjoyment or ease of use.  Conversion rates People visiting your site or using your app must take the desired action, such as adding your product to their shopping cart. User engagement Users should have a high level of interaction and involvement with a particular system, product, or service.  What are UX mistakes that affect SEO? Get to know the most common ways that poor UX can hurt your SEO: Slow loading speed Users will likely click away from a slow-loading site, increasing your bounce rate.  Hard to navigate Users will have difficulty finding the content they’re looking for and leave your site, leading to a high bounce rate.  Lack of mobile responsiveness You’ll lose out on a lot of traffic and potential customers, negatively affecting your ranking.  Poorly designed forms Users may have difficulty filling them out, leading to abandoned form submissions and lost leads.  Confusing calls to action Users may not know what you want them to do, leading to lost conversions. The Importance of Meta Descriptions and How to Optimize Them

In the world of search engine optimization (SEO), meta descriptions are just as important as keywords and content quality. They are the short text paragraph that appears beneath the title of a search result. Their goal is to give searchers an idea of what to expect from their page, while search engines use them to determine their relevance to searchers around the world. The unique text under the link introduces the core idea of your webpage in less than 160 characters. Think of them as tiny little posters that tell people about your store. Sometimes, they are even used as Google search snippets (short page summaries) when deemed the most appropriate for the page. Meta descriptions are essential for SEO because they can improve click-through rates (CTR) over time. As every SEO specialist in the Philippines should know, this leads to higher rankings on the search engine pages. Of course, while writing descriptions may seem like a small job, it’s best if you don’t underestimate it. Well-written meta descriptions can garner a lot of clicks that can rival that of social sharing if done right. How to write a high CTR Meta Description Do you know the secret to writing good meta descriptions? You need to sell the idea of your landing page in less than 160 characters. Even if you have a lot to say, you don’t need to write a synopsis of what your page can do for everyone. Like everything connected to SEO, it’s about maintaining relevance without overdoing keywords and descriptions like a desperate salesman. Can meta descriptions be the same as web page content? Yes and no. The search engine will pull the most relevant sentence on your page as the meta description if left blank. However, it’s still far better to spend a minute or two creating a specific meta description to improve your chances of getting a good rank.  Know that good grammar, punctuation, and having a primary keyword can make a huge difference in how the search engine sees your web page. What are some mistakes to avoid in writing meta descriptions? And as always, make sure you’re writing for people, not bots! While writing a simple meta description is easy, many people still mess it up because they underestimate it. Take your time thinking up a good meta description to reap the rewards once your page goes up.  And if you want to try your hand at SEO, remember to avoid the following pitfalls: Repeating your Title Tag  Although you can use your web page content as your meta description, using your title tag is not recommended. Your meta description should be different from your title tag. Use your meta description as an opportunity to give potential visitors more information about what they can expect to find on your page. Failing to include keywords Meta descriptions are one of the few places on your website where you can include keywords relevant to your page content. Take advantage of this by having 1 to 2 keywords throughout your meta description. Just make sure to keep it short, especially if your keywords pack 70+ characters total. Over or under the character limit To put it bluntly, your meta description should be between 150-160 characters long. Anything shorter risks being cut off by Google, and anything longer will likely be ignored by potential visitors. Much like content writing for a general audience, the golden rule is to keep it short, clean, and informative. Don’t let potential visitors think they’re about to read a Wikipedia page’s worth of information. Forgetting to proofread As a rule of reputation, proofreading your meta descriptions is crucial. Typos and errors could turn potential visitors away from your site if you’re not careful. If you’re worried about these things in the fast-paced world of SEO, avail these services from an SEO company in the Philippines that can do the worrying and spell checking for you! Writing for humans, not robots A good meta description should be written for humans. Pandering to the almighty search engine can only get you so far. Focus on writing an engaging, accurate description of your page content that will interest potential visitors. Are meta descriptions on mobile and desktop the same? There are some ranking advantages to creating meta descriptions specifically for the mobile version of your site. For the most part, it’s a matter of optimizing the length of your title tag and meta description for the small screen. If 160 characters are the max for desktop descriptions, consider 70 or less for mobile.  Creating great meta descriptions is just one way you can help improve your site’s visibility on Google and other search engines. But of course, it can’t win you the ranking you want on its own. SEO experts in the Philippines can ensure that it does in conjunction with other things they can optimize in your website.  In need of trustworthy SEO Services in the Philippines?   Whether you’re running a small blog or maintaining an online store, you’ll want a team of experts to give it a new makeover, something that’s sure to make Google’s eyes twinkle in delight. 5 Reasons Why Your Business Needs A Link Building Strategy

Sure, your website has great content. But is it getting found by your target audience? With so many content being created and published by other companies, your content can be easily buried under higher-ranking pages. This is why it’s important for brands to pay attention to link building. Link building is the process of getting links from websites of high quality, credibility, and authority. Previously, submission of links to create backlinks was automated, but with Google’s recent algorithm change (Penguin), link building has become more stringent. The algorithm now penalizes those who go for paid links and link farming, pushing brands to opt for quality links that lead to quality, credible content. While challenging, there are still practical benefits to link building that can give your business the leverage it needs and can influence how your brand is perceived online. Here are some of the benefits your business can reap. Improve domain authority Domain authority refers to the measure of the quality and quantity of backlinks for your website as a whole. When you link websites to your articles or to your homepage, you pass on link juice that helps the ranking of your article and also improves your domain authority. The higher your domain authority, the more likely you are to appear under relevant searches, thereby improving your organic ranking as well. Just make sure that your links are do-follow links instead of no-follow links, and that you use the do-follow link when posting on relevant websites. Get indexed quicker Backlinks help get your website crawled, which is crucial if you want your website to be indexed. When Google crawls your website, it follows a path through your links which then leads to the search engine looking into your website. This is why it’s recommended you create a sitemap for your website as it contains all the links present in your site which Google can use to scan your website thoroughly. Along with good content, having more backlinks helps search engines recognize you as a trustworthy and reputable source and can get your website indexed and added to search results quicker. Increase referral traffic Referral traffic is the traffic you gain from visitors who click on your links other than through direct traffic or via search results. By posting your links to other websites, such as social bookmarking sites, you can expose your website to more people that could lead into conversions. Do remember to link build contextually to ensure that your links are relevant to where you post them and to attract customers whose interests align with what you offer. Allow brand exposure and visibility Posting links to your content on other websites allows your website to be seen by more people who may be interested in what you have to offer. More than website traffic, you also get to introduce your brand and what you do or offer. Associating your brand with quality content can help position your brand as an expert and authority in your industry. Long-lasting investment Many people overlook link building in favor of search engine marketing (SEM). But while SEM does provide temporary paid exposure in the web, link building is more lasting. These links exist forever, unless you take them down or your social bookmarking sites shut down. You can get referral traffic through these links for as long as they last, which is better for long-term should you not have the budget for constant paid placement on search engine results. Link building may seem tedious due to the restrictions of the Google Penguin algorithm, but it will definitely benefit your brand in the long run. See this instead as an opportunity to create quality content and to link build strategically. Through proper link building practices, you will see a significant impact to your brand’s online presence. Need help with your link building strategy? SEO Unlocked: A Guide For Beginners

Digital marketing has become a business strategy that can no longer be ignored. Technology has rapidly grown and has become a necessity in everyday life. In fact, even traditional businesses have started to adapt digital strategies in order to not get left behind. Therefore, it’s only logical to make it a part of your business game plan. One online marketing strategy you can practice is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is an online marketing strategy that helps your site rank at the top of search engine results. Contrary to what others think, ranking doesn’t happen overnight. SEO takes time and effort. But if done properly, you can expect good and long term results. Now if you’re wondering if ranking is really that important, then yes it is! There are certainly several benefits a site earns for getting on a search engine’s first page. One is that you get visibility, which then increases the number of your new potential stakeholders. This also means that traffic and the engagement rate goes up. Here are the things beginners must keep in mind to get a hold of SEO: Keyword research Using precise keywords can attract traffic, making a site rank higher on search engines. Given the right tools, identifying popular search terms can be easy. The real challenge, however, is determining the type of keywords to use as there are plenty to choose from. Picking one should be dependent on whether it is relevant to your business, doesn’t have too many competition, and has a good amount of searches and existing search volume. Careful use of H1 title tags H1 or Heading One title tags are very tricky to use. Use too few and your site may get unnoticed by a search engine’s crawlers. Use too many and it may be treated as irrelevant content. How is it so powerful? An H1 is one of the first things search engines crawl after the title of a page. This makes it a vital element of a site.  So make sure you effectively use the right amount of H1 title tags in every page of your website. Credible backlinks Backlinks are incoming hyperlinks from another website. It’s one of the most important factors that affects a site’s ranking. A backlink can be likened to a vote—the more you have, the higher you rank. However, this should not be taken lightly as search engines also determine the quality and relevance of the backlinks to your site. Always remember to use only credible sources as your backlinks to ensure your site isn’t deemed untrustworthy by crawlers. Unique and interesting content While backlinks, H1 title tags, and keywords are all important, the most critical part of any SEO campaign is your site’s content. Search engine crawlers have a common goal and that is to provide the most relevant result to queries entered by users. Besides, one of the reasons why your site is visited is because of your online content. Delivering the right information to your target reader makes your site more credible. Being consistent in your published content and its quality attracts more organic traffic, boosts your ideas to users, and can also contribute to a better search engine ranking. Quality content also has a longer shelf life, guaranteeing people will definitely return to your website again . Like social media, if viewers like what they see, they share it more and more, making it noticeable to search engines, which will eventually increase site ranking. Maintaining a website’s content alone demands effort and time, more so when your goal is to be on top of on search engines. Need help with your website?
